Acrylic underpainting: Black and white. You may also use gesso in black and white. Lynn uses Bob Ross liquid acrylics and grey gesso for her underpainting. You may also mix your own grey using your acrylic paints or gessos. Acrylic paints may be used as an underpainting with oil paints on top, however, they may not be applied as a layer over oil paints. Please be sure to allow time for the underpainting to dry, or use a blow dryer on it prior to using your oil paints on top. Please note, your brushes used for your acrylic paints should be cleaned in soap and water and never used for your oil paints or cleaned in thinner.
Oil paints: Prussian blue (available in Bob Ross Landscaper Oil Paints) or ultramarine blue, transparent or ivory black, raw umber, burnt sienna, and warm white. We carry these colors in either Bob Ross soft oils or Richeson oils.
Brush Cleaning System- odorless thinner, thinner bucket with screen
